A long-time leader in faucet sales in the U.S. is turning its strength in innovation towards making an impact on the planet and its most precious resource, water.
Moen newly announced its launch of Mission Moen, which aims to help preserve and protect water. The mission promises to help conserve one trillion gallons of water over the next decade, effectively ensure the water running today will not run out tomorrow.
“We lead the market, which means we serve more water than anyone, and have more responsibility, too,” Mark-Hans Richer, chief marketing and innovation officer, Fortune Brands Global Plumbing Group said in a press release. “Our innovations give consumers more power than ever before when it comes to understanding and controlling the water that flows through their homes, making it easy to reduce their water usage, if they so choose. The best part is – they don’t even have to think about it. Our innovations have water-saving features built in, so minimizing water waste is seamless. We know that people want to save water, but they don’t want to sacrifice a great experience. Thankfully, they don’t have to.”

Moen’s announcement came along with a list of featured water-efficient products that make saving water easy and enjoyable for consumers. One of the recently launched innovations featured is U by Moen Smart Faucet. This smart faucet allows users to use voice commands, such as “wash hands,” which will control the amount of water used down to a single tablespoon. Although these new innovations are intended for residential use, Moen’s water-saving faucet, shower head, and other fixture designs can be implemented into your commercial facility just as easily.
Whether you are at home or on the job in your facility, leaks and drips can happen. Water leaks waste more than a trillion gallons each year in the U.S. alone, according to the EPA. Switching to water-efficient products and staying vigilant for potential leaking areas are crucial steps to stopping the problem early before it leads to a significant waste of water or change in your bills.

The second commitment that Mission Moen will fulfill is to find a purpose for ocean-recycled plastic. The details of this commitment have not been released at this time, but it provides an optimistic outlook for Mission Moen’s promise to make a major difference in water conservation.
“Water has designed and continues to design our Earth, and our lives, from where we live to how we live,” Richer said in a Moen press release. “As the experts in water experience, we at Moen have a responsibility to not only enhance how people interact with water in their homes, but to help protect the beauty and power of water itself. That’s why we invest in innovations and products that make a difference – while at the same time ensuring that the experiences people have with water – whether in the home or in the world around them – are still experiences they love.”
