Between our phones and the computer, it now takes seconds. However, some information is harder to find than others. Simple things like animal facts are easy to locate but when it comes to plumbing fixtures, especially when some of these fixtures are over 40 years old. Our industry isn’t always the most up-to-date, so it takes a little more effort to find these parts. Luckily, Best Plumbing has had a lot of practice on this. 59 years to be exact. Specializing in hard-to-find repair parts has driven the company to where it is today. A large part of this process is our hundreds of books with parts breakdowns. Although, our collection is impressive, where do you even start?
To give you an inside look, check out the work we do for you so you don’t have to!

The first step to identifying a fixture is to get a picture. Sending a picture, as one of the ones below, shows us identifying characteristics of each part. This is helpful because manufacturers did not always put model numbers or their names on the fixture. Therefore, the design of the handle, spout, or stem is what differentiates them from other manufacturers. If it isn’t a faucet, a close-up picture of the item and measurements will work as well. Showing an image with a ruler in it can help indicate size.

The second step is to find the correct model number. We have over twenty employees who have been here for over 20 years so, a picture might be all we need. If we can’t immediately identify it, we will refer to our hall of scrolls. Some of our books, like Chicago faucets, contain fixture breakdowns from back to the 1970s. However, if it is not in one of our pieces of papyrus, we can contact one of our 4,000 vendors.

All of this accumulates to the specialties in Best Plumbing Specialties. So, if you would like us to do the work so you don’t have to, submit a picture and see what we have to offer. By testing us, it keeps the company growing and gaining experience. Enough experience that we can even let you know that an average Asian elephant grows to roughly 9 ft. tall and 19 ft. long.
